Movement types in the Trader Support Service
You can submit the following movement types through the Trader Support Service:
- an entry summary declaration
- Entry in the Declarant’s Records (EIDR)
- a simplified declaration, also known as a simplified frontier declaration
- the Internal Market Movement Information (IMMI)
- a standard declaration, also known as a full import declaration and previously called a full frontier declaration
- an export declaration
All of these movements can be created separately.
The service also allows users to submit an entry summary declaration with:
- an EIDR
- a simplified declaration
- the IMMI
You can also use the service to create a goods movement reference (GMR).
Check your business information
Once you have registered and signed in to the Trader Support Service, you will be presented with the homepage. You can return to the homepage from anywhere in the service by selecting Go to homepage in the navigation bar.
On the homepage, go to Profile and payments, then select View business profile.
Your business details must be complete and correct before you can use them in a goods movement.
You should check your business profile regularly and update it if needed. The service will use the details here to auto-fill some information onto your movements.
Start a goods movement
The process for starting a movement is the same for all types.
1. From the homepage, go to the Declarations box.
2. Select Start a declaration.
3. Select the route your goods are taking.
For example, if the route is Great Britain to Northern Ireland, you will then need to confirm if you are making a submission with the ENS and customs details in a single goods movement or not:
- if you are submitting a movement with the ENS and customs information together, select Transport and customs details, or transport only
- if you are submitting customs information only, select Customs details only
- if you are only submitting an ENS, select Transport and customs details, or transport only
You can now follow the steps to complete the goods movement.
Managing your existing movements
You can see all of the movements you have created in the service to check their status.
To do so, from the homepage, go to Declarations and select View all declarations.
You can search for a specific declaration using the Find a declaration search box. Enter the Declaration ID in this field to locate any movements associated with that reference, such as an EIDR and related supplementary declaration.
Or, use the Filters on the page to sort all existing movements by the movement type, their current status, or a date range.
If a movement is either in “draft” or “trader input required” status, you will be able to edit and submit that movement.
Any movements in “authorised for movement” or “arrived” status can only be viewed, and cannot be changed. Check the status codes guidance for more information.
Your tasks
Any goods movements requiring your attention are listed under Your tasks on the homepage, in the following sections:
- Correct errors in your declarations
- Complete your supplementary declarations
- Submit overdue supplementary declarations
- Pay the outstanding balances for duty and taxes
Managing payments
The Trader Support Service allows you to review and manage payments for your goods movements within the service.
To check completed or outstanding payments, go to Profile and payments on the homepage, and then Payments overview.
You can go to the following lists of movements, sorted by status:
- completed declarations payment
- payment pending (security deposits)
- awaiting immediate payment declarations
You can also search for a specific goods movement using the “Local Reference Number” in the search field on this page, or filter by:
- creation date of the goods movement
- ascending or descending order
- payment date (if applicable)
